The Soil Will Save Us, A Summary

Kristin Ohlson, the author of the book The Soil Will Save Us, states that with the rise of climate change we need to focus on being able to maintain enough carbon in the soil to be able resist drought and harsh weather. With the last thousands of years of poor farming, the land has suffered serious damage due to the tilling of the soil. The author states that over the course of modern agriculture, we have lost 80 billion tons of carbon from the soil and that carbon has combined with the oxygen to make COand now those 80 billion tons of carbon are in our atmosphere.
